My Favourite Books by Dr. William Sears, MD
Prime-Time Health is a great book for everyone interested in healthy ageing, preventative care, and addressing ageing health concerns. I consider it one of the best gifts you can give someone turning 40. This book is the main textbook in the Prime-Time Health course I offer.
I love the Inflammation Solution. Dr. Sears has a very good way of explaining science in an easily understandable fashion. This book was one of the resources I used in my health coach training. What are six-S of anti-inflammatory diet? You have to read it to find out!
The Omega-3 Effect is a must read for all families. In this book Dr. Sears addresses science behind this powerful nutrient and the effects it has on our kids, how it impacts our weight, how it contributes to youthfulness, and its uses in natural healing.
My favourite books on plant based nutrition
The China Study is the largest study performed in the history of nutrition, which resulted in hundreds of journal publications. Hence it is one of the key pieces that everyone interested in healthy eating should read.
I love Angela's recipes, they are so simple yet delicious creations. The combination of ingredients she uses makes her dishes clearly outstanding. She is one of my cooking inspirations.
How Not to Die is a great book promoting plant based diet. The book is backed up by scientific evidence. It is one of the best books on nutrition and nutrition science I read.
I had been following Kristina on YouTube for a number of years now. She is one of my greatest inspirations in raw cuisine. She makes eating a lot of raw fruits and vegetables fun, which I love about her. Her desserts are simply divine!
Other books on nutrition i enjoyed
Cure Tooth Decay is one of the books that I was very sceptical about at first, probably because the title sounds somewhat absurd. However, once I started reading it, I changed my mind. The author raises good points about traditional ways of food preparation vs modern way and the impact it is having on our health.
Vegan Plant is one of the cookbooks I picked up at the Vegan restaurant in Toronto years ago. Since then it is my first go to book for vegan recipes. The big drawback is that it is lacking pictures, but most of the recipes (I tried a fair number of them) and delicious.
